There's a lot of Plimates* who will see this as a serious impediment to the delivery of justice.
Funnily though I've never seen a one of them suggest that it would be apt punishment for a female convict to be raped to underline the severity of their sentence.
Must be one of those double standard things you hear so much about.
*And non-Plimates too - the support of state sanctioned rape is not one that is exclusive to just here.

Dunno what to say, it happens to males yet males don't mind. I suppose for guys the fear is so far removed from their daily lives that they never had to associate fear with rape the way women do, and as a result, they don't condemn it happening to their own gender in the same way.
However, male or female It doesn't bother me if it happens to another rapist or child molester.. Well it does a little, but only because it is so easy for me to identify with the female and imagine such things happening to myself. Not because I mind someone understanding how the pain they inflicted on others must feel.
edit: it is a lot like capital punishment, I am not for it, but that doesn't mean part of me doesn't want it.

Not sure what you are saying here. Are you suggesting that a number of people think that it should be legal to rape inmates as part of their punishment??

What he's commenting on is the number of people who say things like 'guess he'll get what's coming to him in jail' on stories about rapists.
And gam, that might make you feel better, but that's horse s**t. Hoping someone is raped is wrong, no matter what your gender, their gender, or what they've done. It doesn't take having girl parts to understand how horrible it is, and to care, and to not think it should happen to someone else.
I've been raped, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, under any circumstances, not even that jackasses that raped me.

I have definitely heard this kind of talk, it's really ridiculous that it is taken so lightly considering that lots of these prisoners will get out one day.
Great rehabilitation process, let them get away with raping for the 10-20 years they spend in jail and then release them back into society.

Another problem (there are many) with allowing rape as part of one's punishment is that the guys at the top of the pecking order, probably the worst of the bunch, won't be affected adversely at all.
