I'm usually pro gun-control, but I think I support this bill. The current gun registry program does make things difficult for people who use guns properly - hunters and farmers - and since it only applies to rifles and shotguns and not handguns, it makes sense.

Most of the support for this bill comes from Canada's rural population while the opposition comes from urban people. It's easy to understand why since most gun crimes occur in cities and not out in the boonies.

Perhaps a solution would be to place a stricter registry program or rules on urban firearm owners, maybe leave these rules up to municipal police or governments instead of the federal government.

I just think it's ridiculous that it's difficult for me to carry a shotgun to protect me against bears and wolverines and other creatures that want to eat me when I'm at work or hiking around home because some citiot is frustrated with gun crime in Toronto.
