This article really illustrates how totally inefficient the healthcare companies are.

They raised their premiums 131% over the last 10 years but are only managing to eke out a 2% profit. That's in addition to their legally allowed cherrypicking of not insuring anyone with a pre-existing condition.

Pathetic.

So then... how do you propose the U.S. government is just going to do everything magically better?? Oh... wait... I know... heavy subsidy from the taxpayer... that's the ONLY way it could work. The job of any private "for profit" organization is to maximize its profits. The government is claiming it can not only decrease the cost but operate more efficiently. Anyone that believes that is naive.

Probably inefficient due to their labyrinthine regulations...We should definitely get the government to tack some more on and make it better.

Health shouldn't be a for profit endeavor - except for the patient!

This industry obviously needs some help in operating appropriately.

Or people need to be warned that this system is NOT planning to help anyone but themselves!
