It's from April, so sorry if this is a dupe...I was really touched by what this man said. "We have 4 sons, and we didn't raise them so that 3 would have rights that 1 would be denied." (paraphrase)
What he said is so true and so fundamentally right...I applaud him for speaking up!

If anyone is interested in the specifics of this clip, this man is speaking about the law passed in Maine to legalize same-sex marriage (when he says he's from Biddeford- that's where my Memere grew up), and the current push to repeal the law. Question #1 on our ballot this November is to repeal the law. "Yes on 1" is a vote to take away marriage rights from gay couples, "No on 1" is a vote to keep the law in place and allow everyone to marry. You can google "no on 1- protect equality in Maine" if you want to donate to the campaign.

Edit- and thanks for posting this. :)

Thank you for the extra info. Marli! I read that "No on 1" supporters were out 4 to 1 when Phillip spoke in April...I hope they turn out like that in November too.

You and me both! So far I think we've raised almost twice as much as the "Yes on 1" campaign, and the Catholic church has taken a lot of heat for donating heavily to "Yes on 1" while two historic Catholic churches in Maine have had to close in the past few weeks due to lack of funding.
I'm going to a No on 1 fundraiser this weekend, too, so fingers crossed!
