The Most Beautiful First Lady In History told the International Olympic Committee a tale of her childhood. At least we hope it was from her childhood.

“Some of my best memories are sitting on my dad’s lap, cheering on Olga and Nadia, Carl Lewis, and others for their brilliance and perfection.”

Heartwarming. Except for one thing.

Turns out Carl Lewis first competed in the Olympics in 1984 when Michelle Obama was already 20 years old. So either she was lying or she had a very strange relationship with her father.

This is more than vaguely reminiscent of the time that Hillary Clinton announced that she had been named after Sir Edmund Hillary. In fact, she told the story for nearly a decade before someone figured out that he was an unknown New Zealand beekeeper when Hillary Rodham was born in 1947 and didn’t become famous until he became the first man to scale Mount Everest in 1953. Either Hillary was lying or her Ma Rodham was psychic. Our money’s on the former.

Ditto with Michelle Obama. picked by nateebiinature 2 months ago

I think she is a great role model.
I hope this was a one-time slip.

She WAS young enough for Olga and Nadia though.

I think this is a simple case of mixing memories. Similar events have a way of melding together in our minds. She remembers sitting on her father's lap watching the Olympics, she remembers some of the Olympic athletes she watched in her youth.

It's akin to remembering going to Disneyland twice as a kid. You remember the rides, but you don't remember which specific rides you rode on which specific trip. And then somebody says "AHA! Splash Mountain wasn't even open in 1975! Liar!"

I'd say this is likely a mixing up of memories as well. It's reasonable.

Totally not as bad as when Hillary Clinton lied about landing in Bosnia under sniper fire during the 2008 campaigns.
