 Limbaugh: We need segregated buses
Limbaugh: We need segregated buses
In a remark extraordinary even by the standards of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing radio heavyweight declared on his program Wednesday that the United States needed to return to racially segregated buses. picked by Bornbad 2 months ago

Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”
I'm not a huge Limbaugh fan or anything, but I know sarcasm and this is it. This is just a case where Limbaugh haters are taking a comment, that was meant to be far fetched to make a point, and making it sound like this is what he really believes.

Sensational Headline Syndrom is all this is.

It's obvious that Limbaugh is sarcastic and is not encouraging segregated buses.

I know you don't like him, but seriously, let's not go down this road.

Michael Richards thought he was employing such ironic "sarcasm" at the Comedy Store. I don't see the two cases as much different.

Limbaugh has flogged this idea that racial progress is somehow diminishing the rights of white people for decades now. And that is just an indefensible position, yet one he's held to for decades.

The guy's a clown -- an entertainer, who was taken more seriously than he ever should have been, and rode into media power on the '90s "Republican Revolution," (a term that should be anathema to true conservatism) and still refuses to admit his role as a jester in the "mainstream media" he likes to abuse.

Disingenuousness as a career. I would expect to read a forthcoming apology soon.

At least Neil Boortz recognizes his role.

Whether or not Limbaugh was serious (and I think his strategy is to say what he means, then claim he was sarcastic if there's a backlash), his viewers and listeners believe every word he utters.

When he says stuff like this, it only puts bad ideas into the ditto-heads who lack the cognitive ability to think for themselves.

Someone needs to look up the words sarcasm, satire, and context.

We should banish the loud mouth, spewing his vile hatred, corrupting the minds of every one of his followers. Then after Jeremiah Write's gone we can work on a few others.

As bad as he and his ilk are, I would rather keep them than engage in censorship. Even freedom of speech has a downside.

Take something that a democrat says out of context. Twist the words of a democrat in what was obviously satire and you'll find that they understand the meaning of "sarcasm, satire, and context".
