Though calling someone Mussolini does not have the same effect as calling someone Hitler.

Funny story. My last name sounds similar to Hitler. My dad used to be a principal at a school. He's really strict. So, they called him Aldof Bitchler. Behind his back, of course.

The sad thing is that if any other individual in any other profession lived by the same sort of false promises, s/he'd get fired faster than you could say, well, fired.

Why do politicians, ALL politicians as this problem transcends national or party affiliations, get away with this?

When are we the people going to say enough's enough and fight for a more just and honest government.

Maybe if I was a bit more motivated....

Yes, but considering that hitler wanted to exterminate all who were not racially pure (blonde hairs and such) it is very funny

Its the nature of politics, until we expect more we wont get more. even if he wanted to only promise what he could give, he has to keep up with all the promises that his opponents were offering. It is a cycle.
