« tragluk : Temple square.

Admission cost: Free.
Cost to build the temple: 4M and 40 years.

Amount that the church has donated in the past 20 years: 600M+

Not to mention the time in which they donate to work.

Give them another 20 years at this rate and they'll have donated over a billion and a half to projects, and still have a 4 million dollar temple that they use strictly for worship. By the way, that isn't where the offices are located. Those are in a different building nearby. The purpose of the temple is different than the offices of the church.

THIS is the church office. It's a 28 story office building. Not exactly the rich opulant temple, but it seems to work for their hundreds of charity operations they work on every year.
So that's $4,000,000 misapproprated from charitable donations?

Is that being investigated?

Not if they intended to donate in order to build the temple in the first place. Besides, a church kind of needs a church, don't you think? :p This isn't the same thing as donating to a televangelist so that he can buy his next Armani suit and gold encrusted desk, and then he may donate 10% of it to some food pantry. Temples generally aren't castles, they're solely used as places of worship. Even with churches that have on-site residence for the reverend, from those that I've encountered, it's just a regular house that abuts the property or is built on the property.
